Josef Matulich
BiographyJosef Matulich is a writer, artist, and retired mime. His written works include four horror/comedy novels, several short plays and flash fiction, and one poor screenplay perhaps trapped forever in Development Hell.
His Arcanum Faire trilogy, a horror/comedy of sex, magick, and power tools, was published by Cincinnati’s Post Mortem Press. The final novel “The Ren Faire at the End of the World” was released in late 2017. His novel "Squirrel Apocalypse" was released by Hydra Publications in late 2019 before assorted other End-of-the-World scenarios began to play out in real life. The steampunk misadventure "The Silk Empress" will drop Dec. 11th 2022. His flash fiction has appeared on the Wicked Library podcast and the compilation “44 Lies by 22 Liars” by Post Mortem. He won the Context Flash Fiction competition its last year. Josef’s short plays have been performed around Central Ohio and a horror/comedy screenplay of his is currently in Pre-Production Hell somewhere on the Coast. He has built monsters for movies, slit throats on video, and provided magick amulets on the spot. His jobs have ranged from ditchdigging and setting explosives to operating a mass spectrometer in an EPA lab, not to mention several dozen children’s parties Josef lives with his lovely wife Kit in a deer-infested sub-urb of Columbus Ohio. Together, they also own a semi-haunted vintage and costume shop. When not making up funny/scary stories or manning the Help Desk of a Fortune 100 corporation, he assists his wife Kit in their semi-haunted vintage & costume shop. |
