Shannon Eichorn
BiographyShannon Eichorn is a science fiction writer and aerospace engineer in Cleveland. She received her BSE in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. This was supposed to enable her to write hard science fiction, but she writes space opera about alien symbionts instead. During the day, she has written service instructions for turbofan engines, taught horseback riding at a summer camp, and supported supersonic wind tunnel testing.
She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University's Summer Creative and Performing Arts Academy (2003) and the Alpha Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Workshop for Young Writers (2005). She also won the 2008 Nemet Scholarship for Excellence in Creative Writing at Case Western Reserve University. In her "infinite free time," she reads urban fantasy and space opera. She lives with her domesticated mad rocket scientist and his two cats. She can be found playing bass, speaking at conventions, extolling the cuteness of supersonic wind tunnels, or rearranging her bookshelves. |
