2018 Art show Update

2/25/2018

Greetings, ConCoctioneers!

I know a lot of you have been to a convention that has a silent auction before, but just in case, I want to give you a quick note about how it works in our Art Room:

All silent auction bids are BINDING!
Be prepared to pay for ALL silent auctions won.

Never bid on a bunch of art and assume that someone will outbid you on some of them, unless you are ready and willing to pay for every single piece. We keep the bid increments in whole dollar amounts (no bid increases of a penny, nickel, dime, etc.).You can up the bid as much as you want ($1-$10 or more), but again, you WILL be expected to pay for all the silent auction items you win.

If a piece has a listed “Quick Sale” price and no one has bid on it, you can buy it outright at that price, but once the bidding starts, that price is null and void. If there are any pieces left on Sunday that have no bids, you can still purchase them at that Quick Sale price.

We accept cash, check AND credit/debit card. You will be expected to come to the Art Show room and pay for your art by the close of the room on Sunday (2:30). Those are the basics!

The full rules will be listed in your con Program Book, and the art room will always have someone at the staff table ready and willing to answer any questions you might have that aren’t covered. We’re here to help you and make your con experience fun! I hope to see all your smiling faces in our Art Room this year!

Cleveland Concoction Welcomes Linda Robertson to Authors Alley!

Linda Robertson is an internationally published author with, currently, two novel series: the Persephone Alcmedi series (Urban Fantasy), and the Immanence series (Dark Fantasy). Once upon a time she was the lead guitarist in a hard rock/metal cover band, so it’s no surprise that she wrote, performed, created, produced, mixed and mastered a full orchestral score/CD for the first Immanence title: Jovienne.

She won the 2006 OSU Mansfield's Florence B. Allen writing competition, has earned a cum laude Associate of the Art’s Degree in English, worked as a graphic artist, and dabbled in costuming/sewing, crafting and furniture renovation. She attends various writing conventions, blogs, and gives workshops about the craft of writing. A mother of four boys, Linda is married and lives in northeast Ohio.

Cleveland Concoction Welcomes K.M. Herkes to Authors Alley!

2/25/2018

K. M. Herkes is mostly quiet with a thirty-percent chance of loud. The rest is subject to change without notice. Creating imaginary worlds has been a passion since childhood. Professional development has included lab work, classroom teaching, animal training, aquaculture, horticulture, retail operations, and library service. Personal development is ongoing. Cats, cookies, and flowers are involved.

Her favorite stories dance in the open spaces between genres, so her books play in the literary traffic, dodging between science fiction, fantasy, thrills, and suspense.

Cleveland Concoction Welcomes J.D. Blackrose to Authors Alley!

2/22/2018

J.D. Blackrose loves all things storytelling and celebrates great writing by posting about it on her website, www.slipperywords.com. She has published The Soul Wars series and the Monster Hunter Mom series, both through Falstaff Books, as well as numerous short stories. When not writing, Blackrose lives with three children, an enormous orange cat, her husband and a full-time job in Corporate Communications.  She’s fearful that so-called normal people will discover exactly how often she thinks about wicked fairies, nasty wizards, homicidal elevators, treacherous forests, and the odd murder, even when she is supposed to be having coffee with a friend or cheering her daughter on during a soccer game.   As a survival tactic, she has mastered the art of looking interested. She credits her parents for teaching her how to ask questions, and in lieu of facts, how to make up answers.
