This year we are honored to be partnering with two local charity groups: Extra Life & Stay-A-While Cat Shelter These are two very different charities but both with very important goals: To bring hope to those needing treatment and care. We will be raising funds to both of these groups through our annual Silent Auction, and donations have already been coming to us over the last year. Be sure to check the Charity Silent Auction page from time to time to see just some of the great items that you could win and support others in need. The Charity Silent Auction will now be in the Artshow this year, as it is moving from the Exhibit Hall. Should you be inclined, we will be taking donations of food, litter, toys, etc. to deliver to Stay-A-While after the convention. Members of Extra Life will be manning a table on our mezzanine level during the convention if you'd like to learn more, and they will also be speaking during a short panel session. We also will have a LARGE partial donation of fabric in the Registration office during the convention.
Half of the money from the sale of these textiles will also go to our charities this year! We're getting close to convention time - so here's some reminders on the pre-event deadlines coming up:
1) Custom ribbon orders: January 30th (1/30/16) 2) GM signups: February 1st (2/1/16) 3) Hotel room block closes February 8th (2/8/16) 4) Program Book: February 10th (2/10/16) **This is also the deadline for ads, artists, vendors, panels, games, programming, games, etc. to be included in the book. signups after this date in some areas *may* still be possible, but limited.** 5) Mail-in pre-registration/group registration: Must be postmarked by February 20th (2/20/16) 6) Online pre-registration: Ends midnight, February 29th (2/29/16) In the last two years of our members-only convention you've been asking us for an option for people to be able to come in and visit just the Exhibit Hall, Artshow, and Author Alley, for those that just want to network and shop and *not* attend all the amazing panels, workshops, meet & greets, gaming, consuite, parties, and other things ConCoction has to offer.
You asked, and we listened. This year we are trying out a Sunday-only "Hall Pass" limited membership that will allow access to those three areas only. "Hall Pass" attendees will still need to come to the Registration area to sign in & get their pass, but from there they can peruse the Artists, Authors & Vendors until the end of the show. This option will not be available on any other day of the convention. It will only be available on Sunday from the time Registration opens (10am) until the shows close (3pm). Stop in, grab a Hall Pass membership this year, and then check us out and consider coming back for the full convention in 2017! We have so many fantastic vendors signed up for this year's convention!!
Just to give you a preview, we'll have... Hrothgar's Hoard "Hrothgar's Hoard is dedicated to making high quality gaming accessories for tabletop games. Using both domestic and exotic hardwoods, Hrothgar's Hoard specializes in chests, dice towers, cases for miniatures and other accessories. Look for us at gaming conventions throughout the mid-west." Renaissance Fashions "Renaissance Fashions prides itself of carrying items made by artists we personally know. If we don't make it ourselves, we've been to the artists workshop and seem the production process from start to finish. We know every product inside and out. Each item in our store meets our stringent quality standards and is something unique." Dazzling Knits & Jewels "It all started with a girl and a pair of needles. I've always loved to make things. It's a great gift to be able to take something raw and make it into a beautiful creation. I've always made Christmas and birthday gifts for family members and friends because I think something handmade to way better to receive than something store bought. So I wanted to share what I can make with the world and see where it can take me." Click the Vendor's Shop Name above to see their website OR go to our Exhibit Hall Page to see even more vendors that will be at ConCoction 2016!! |
