October in Ohio is absolutely PACKED with awesome events and conventions, and many of our volunteers and friends also attend many of these events.

Rainbow's Maid Cafe @ NyanCon 2015
NyanCon
Earlier in the month we'd also attended NyanCon which is a one day Free Community College event at Lakeland Community College. This was our second year attending and taking attendee photos at this event. Chock full of anime panels, cosplay panels & contests, asian themed foods in the food court, vendors and artists or all kinds and so many great cosplays - how could we not have a great time!
This year's team pulled off another super successful event, and we hope to attend again in 2016. To see the photos we took at this year's NyanCon, please see the album on our Facebook Page.

Con on the Cob
Just this past weekend our friends at Con on the Cob had their convention at a new location in Richfield, OH. Artist Andy Hopp and friend's have been bringing this wonderful event to the Hudson/Akron/Richfield area for around 10 years now. A great fall convention - it's full of gaming, artists, vendors, shenenanigans and now improved this year with indoor putt-putt!
We had a hall table for the first time at this year's event - did we meet you there?

OVFF: Ohio Valley Filk Fest
This year we'll have a volunteer or three attending OVFF in Columbus, OH to listen to some excellent music, enjoy in the fun, and hear more about the 2015 Pegasus Award winners.

We've not had the pleasure to attend in the past, but we're very much looking forward to taking in the sounds, the sights, and possibly recruiting some performers for ConCoction 2016 and beyond!

We'll have ribbons to pass out, we'll be able to take pre-registrations, and answer questions onsite on Saturday 10/24.

NE Geek Expo
Another great one day convention event in the Geneva area is also coming up this weekend. This will be our third year attending N.E. Geek Expo, and it will be our second year with a promo table onsite (Table 22).
Tons of vendors, games, drawing prizes, cosplay contest, moar shenanigans, demos, panels - everything a one day local geek fest should be and more.
We'll be able to take pre-registrations, talk about space in the vendor room & artshow, answer questions onsite on Saturday 10/24.

OddMall: Hallowondrous!

Last but certainly not least is the OddMall Emporium event in Akron. Since moving from the Hudson, OH Clarion Inn to the John S. Knight center in Akron in the last couple years, OddMall has become a two day explosive event of artists, crafters, vendors, performers, musicians, cosplayers, costumers, and more than a local craft fair ever dreamed to be.
We will also have a promo table there again this year, will be able to take pre-reg, you can signup for our newsletter, and more!
See you there! :)

Columbus, Ohio area musician Pete Mako (iampetemako.com) was also on tour this month and stopped in to perform live for our event this year. Songs of monsters & relationships were enjoyed by many before the night was out.

There were also some drawing prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
This year's charity was again The Gathering Place that provides cancer support services to patients and their families in the Cleveland area. From their website:
"The Gathering Place offers a wide variety of free programs and services that address the emotional, physical, spiritual and social needs of those touched by cancer. We provide support to individuals diagnosed and their family members and friends at any point on the journey; at time of diagnosis and during and after treatment."

Our event survey is also now live and we'd love your feedback!
If you were able to attend we want to know if you enjoyed the event. If you wanted to attend but couldn't, we'd be interested in your feedback as well, so that we can make this event better for our friends and followers.

Click this link to take our survey. Survey closes after October 31st.

A BIG thank you to all our volunteers who made this event possible by donating their time and thank you also to the attendees - without all of you, this charity event could not be possible. Thank you!
