A 24-year Deputy Sheriff for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio, Michael “Knightmage” Wilson has been cosplaying since 2012. Having created over 350 costumes, Michael is an award winning cosplayer with many of his creations being praised and displayed on numerous platforms in print and online. Michael is noted as one of the most influential and diverse male cosplayers in the world. Along with judging cosplay contests Michael often hosts cosplay panels and workshops at conventions showcasing the creative, positive, inspiring and supportive side of cosplay.

Cleveland ConCoction is excited to announce a returning cosplay guest and contest emcee: Mogchelle!

Mogchelle started in cosplay by just being an average geek attending an anime convention in 1999. Her love for the artwork in anime, video games, and comic books made her want to bring the 2D images from the pages and screen to real life. She’s also been featured in several national and international magazines, and several online entertainment news sources for her costuming, and has done work for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

We're extremely pleased to welcome back Stitches as a cosplay guest and contest judge for ConCoction's 2023 event!

Stitches has a special connection to Cleveland Concoction. The first year of Cleveland Concoction was her first time competing as a cosplayer. Stitches won best in show that year and for the next 3 years before returning as a judge.

​Stitches has brought to life characters such as Mrs. Incredible, Phantom of the Opera, Gambit, and who could forget, Kaylee from the cult classic Firefly.

​Get ready to flex your making muscles - cosplay content at ConCoction 2023 promises to be both educational and entertaining!

Returning celebrity cosplayer Knightmage will be presenting his classic Cosplay 101 talk - perfect for those just getting into cosplay or who are wanting to start making for themselves.

Mogchelle herself, who returns as the cosplay contest emcee this year, will show a hands-on demo of cosplay makeup. Time to learn how to level up one of the most underappreciated cosplay skills!

If gaming is more your speed, Stitches, past cosplay contest winner and returning judge, will be running a game show called “Stumped by Stitches”. Come see if you have what it takes to defeat such a talented maker!

First time ConCoction guest and past cosplay contest winner Big Girl Little World, along with Mogchelle, will lead a discussion about diversity in cosplay. Think you’re too old for costuming? Think you don’t look enough like your favorite character to cosplay as them? Come learn more from two of our esteemed guests!

Interested in making props and armor? Maker Fishmeal, previous cosplay contest winner, will be presenting an introduction to foamsmithing - complete with lots of photos and hands-on examples! Try and see if you can figure out what mystery material the rivets on their armor are before the secret is revealed… 

Finally, all four cosplay guests will convene in a shared panel for a Meet the Cosplay Guests event. How did they get started cosplaying? What’s their biggest piece of advice for new cosplayers? If you have questions for the cosplayers or just want to learn more about what makes them tick, this is the panel for you!

And of course we can’t forget about the main event - the cosplay masquerade on Saturday evening! Make sure to sign up Saturday morning if you’d like to compete, since you’ll need to complete pre-judging with our wonderful judges. Otherwise, watch out for the official schedule announcement so you know exactly where and when to attend the big show!

ConCoction 2023 welcomes Big Girl, Little World

​Please help us in welcoming Big Girl Little World as a cosplay guest and contest judge to ConCoction 2023! 

Big Girl Little World has been cosplaying since 2016 and has won: Best of Animation, Best Hero, Best Villain, and Best in Show. Big Girl Little World has cosplayed a diverse array of characters including: PaRappa The Rapper (Video Game), Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury Series), Warrior Princess Tiana (Princess and The Frog), Squirtle (Pokemon), Killer Croc (Batman Arkham Asylum), and more. All of which are self-designed and brought to life.

​In addition to her cosplay, Big Girl Little World is the author of “Jackie Laveau: The In Between” published on Amazon, planned for republication soon.

ConCoction 2023 welcomes Knightmage!

We are once again honored and excited to welcome Knightmage to ConCoction as a cosplay guest and contest judge!

Michael “Knightmage” Wilson is an award winning International Cosplayer, Deputy Sheriff and Philanthropist from Youngstown, Ohio. Having created over 350 costumes since beginning his cosplay journey in 2012, Knightmage has had many of his creations awarded and praised in numerous publications both online and in print while being regarded as one of the most influential and diverse cosplayers in the world.

Knightmage also uses his platform and creations to bring awareness to various charitable organizations worldwide. Knightmage has been recognized for his charity efforts but most notably by receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama and the White House.

ConCoction 2023 welcomes Mogchelle!

We are pleased to announce the return of Mogchelle to ConCoction as a cosplay guest and contest emcee!

Mogchelle started in cosplay by just being an average geek attending an anime convention in 1999. Her love for the artwork in anime, video games, and comic books made her want to bring the 2D images from the pages and screen to real life. She’s also been featured in several national and international magazines, and several online entertainment news sources for her costuming, and has done work for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Over the years she has won countless awards internationally for both craftsmanship and performance on the masters level. She also had the honor of being in the original Project Ebon Blade group by Zach Fisher during Blizzcon, which was a huge undertaking of talent from across the globe to bring Zach’s art to life!

Mogchelle is a proud alumni of The University of Hot Glue and Duct Tape! Every year, she chooses a charity organization to help raise funds for by donating a portion of the profits of her craft and 100% print sales!

Our Online Cosplay Contests will be happening THIS Saturday, March 21.


Here's how they're going to work:

Folks who want to enter the contest just have to get dressed up, take a photo in the Cosplay, and email it to us. (We're working on the honor system here folks. This is all for fun. Please don't send in something from a previous con or contest) There will be a 48 hour window for those emailed photos to come in. 2:00 pm Eastern on Wednesday March 18 through 2:00 pm on Friday March 20.

There will actually be two contests. 
One is the fan poll (see below) and the other will be a celebrity judging. 
Cosplay Guests Knightmage and Mogchelle, as well as past winner Annye Driscoll, have all offered to help, so their decision will be the second contest


Requirements: Not many; as stated above, this is for fun. However, if response does get really heavy, We're probably going to have to cap participation at around 100 .

One entry per person, please.



THIS IS A KID FRIENDLY CONTEST.

On Saturday, all of the photos will be posted here in the event and a poll will be created for voting. ANYONE who wants to can vote for up to three.
The poll will stay live for the duration of the event.

Whoever gets the most votes wins.

We are still working on whether or not there will be prizes. I'm trying to get something small together, but no promises on that end.
